We will start with a theoretical introduction of rock climbing. Every participant will climb top roping (a very safe way to climb because the rope is coming from the top of the route) some not difficult routes for beginners (grade IV - V) in the area known as "Tajo del Buho". At the end of the day we will begin to lead our first routes and installing the belay stations. In this course you will learn how to:
Instal belay stations.
Tactics for rock climbing.
Technical skills for rock climbing.
Then we will hike to explore other sectors of climbing, watching and explaining different routes of medium and high difficulty. We will visit the famous mosaic wall, ending on the summit of the Sierra de San Bartolome, where we will be impressed by the views of Africa, Tarifa and the dunes of the beach of Bolonia.
About 18:00 we pick up the gear, and we will go to paradisiacal beach of Bolonia, hiking up to its famous dunes on the pine forest.
After sunset, we will go to the camping "Torre la Peña I", where we will sleep -learn more here-. If you wish you can have dinner at the camping's bar "El Chozo", located a few meters from the sea and with a unique view to Morocco. Another option for dinner is Tarifa, charming town, real Meca for kiters and windsurfers from around the world, and located at the southernmost point of Europe. Africa is only 14 kilometers from us.
Day 2: Sunday
At 10:00 we leave the campsite towards the village Betis. That day we climb in the area known as "San Bartolo". We will try more technical and longer routes (IV-V degree), leading with beautiful views of the sea and Morocco. The goal of the day is to strengthen the concepts learned in the previous day.
About 18:00 we pick up the gear, and we will have a well deserved beer at the only kiosk - bar in the village Betis, or if you wish, in the paradisiacal beach of Valdevaqueros.
